This is a good camera especially for the price. Image quality does suffer a bit from the price and I don’t like the proprietary cord connections. The charger is proprietary and the data cable to download the pictures is. In this day and age, I think most if not all digital cameras should use standard mini USB cables. Nevertheless, I give it a 4 out of 5.

I bought this camera for my daughter for Christmas. I looked at quite a few. I can tell you that this camera takes excellent pictures, has a real nice large display, a nice look and a nice grip/feel to it. ALL the benefits are completely obliterated by the fact that the camera ABSOLUTELY DEVOURS batteries like there’s no tomorrow. Buy this camera if you dare but be prepared to “babysit” the batteries for the rest of the cameras life. . The batteries will die UNBELIEVEABLY QUICKLY, predictably and consistently. This fact cannot be underestimated enough. It was a bad investment. To make matters worse, you get a short little abreviated user manual in the box while the website has a complete owners manual detailing every aspect of the camera. I called customer service and the wanted to charge me $20.00 for the book. Another raw deal!

Customer Review: Great first camera for a budding photographer
I bought this camera as a Christmas present for my 7 year old son, who has shown an interest in photography and had taken some very interesting shots with my digital camera while visiting my parents during the summer. He has shown promise with his artistic eye for detail, content, and placement and I wanted to encourage him without investing too much money in his newfound hobby. He loves this camera! It is lightweight, easy to use, has features that makes it easy for him to be even more creative with the effects, and the pictures are decent. He has taken a few shots that he really liked, so I had them printed as 8″x10″ prints and framed for his wall. He’s going on his first Caribbean cruise this spring and looking forward to filling his 2G memory card with photos and memories to have printed and make a phtoto coffee table book for me and his grandparents. Though it’s not what I’d purchase for my 16 year old son or either of my teenaged stepdaughters, who have a keener eye for picture quality and are a bit more responsible, I think it’s a great first camera for a child who is truly interested in photography and has shown that they have a knack for finding beauty through the lens.

Customer Review: Great, inexpensive camera
I wanted to buy a fun, inexpensive digital camera for my six year old. After looking into all the cameras designed for kids (Fisher Price and others) I realized that they had few features and poor picture quality. The Samsung Digimax comes in fun bright colors, has lots of features and decent picture quality. So far, it hasn’t been dropped or kicked, so the jury is out on how long it will hold up. Meanwhile, my son has had a blast using the camera. It is easy to use and has a nice big LCD screen. Downloading the images to the computer is a little tricky, but with an inexpensive 1GB SD card, it’s just like a little photo album to carry around for him.

Customer Review: I’m taking this one back
I picked up the camera about 2.5 hours ago and already it’s doing the freezing other people mention. The sales person said I could easily take 600+ pictures before the battery died and it’s been less than 100. It’s really hard to figure out how to take a decent picture. It’s either way too bright and you can’t see anything or it’s way too dark and you can’t see anything.

Sorry but I couldn’t recommend this to anyone. I’m hoping to find a better camera when I return this one.

Customer Review: Excellent flash for the money
The Pentax AF 360 FGZ flash is an excellent choice for the photographer on a budget. It integrates well with the Pentax K 10D digital camera. The power and adjustments of the flash unit provide opportunities for creativity. Although there are better units out there, all of them are more money and some of them do not integrate with the Pentax body.

The construction of this unit is above average. The adjustments are average. The power is above average. The ease of use is above average. The number of flashes per battery charge is above average.

I would buy this unit again.
